The term open source refers to software whose source code — the medium in which programmers create and modify software — is freely available on the Internet; by contrast, the source code for proprietary commercial software is usually a closely guarded secret

Communities of programmers often work together to develop the software and to support users. Open source products are usually tested in public by online contributors.

Large companies such as Twitter, Facebook and the BBC make use of open source technology. For example, the BBC makes use of MySQl and it creates open source software, such as the program to improve the compatibility of iPlayer on smart TVs.

We believe the best way to bring personality and performance to websites and products is through great design and technology. Our goal is to make that process simple, by offering an intuitive and robust directory of open source options and ideas.

Having probs getting scanner to recognise printer/scanner aio the answer was to install hplip but more probs as

error: HPLIP is not installed properly or is installed without graphical support. Please reinstall HPLIP
warning: Qt/PyQt 4 initialization failed.
error: hp-setup requires GUI support (try running with --qt3). Also, try using interactive (-i) mode.

apt install hplip   only installs the back end apt install hplip-gui

Ubuntu 13.04 onwards

The hostnamectl command is part of the default installation on both Desktop and Server editions.

It combines setting the hostname via the hostname command and editing /etc/hostname. As well as setting the static hostname, it can set the "pretty" hostname, which is not used in Ubuntu. Unfortunately, editing /etc/hosts still has to be done separately.

hostnamectl set-hostname new-hostname

This command is part of the systemd-services package (which, as of Ubuntu 14.04, also includes the timedatectl and localectl commands). As Ubuntu migrates to systemd, this tool is the future.

The major problem stems from using a fluid template. Because of this, we don't know how wide the Article area will be. This makes adding carriage returns not too usefull because for some sites you may need 3, others only 1.
If you want text to align with the pictures(I'm assuming your floating them left in this example), after each picture and it's assigned text, enter:
<div "style=clear: left;"></div>
This forces the cursor to drop down to the left past whatever is floated left(in this case your picture). Next, float your next image with it's text.
